The government sites (US1-FED, US2-FED) are not supported. Only the core tools are on by default; add ?toolsets=all (or a list such as ?toolsets=apm,llmobs) to the address for more. In Claude Code you can also install Datadog's plugin from Anthropic's marketplace: /plugin install datadog@claude-plugins-official.

How to add Datadog to Claude
Datadog recommends its connector from Claude's directory (it also shows charts in the chat). If you added Datadog before as a custom connector, remove that one first so they do not clash.
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors (Settings > Connectors in some versions).
- Browse the connectors and search for Datadog.
- Press Connect, sign in and allow access.
- In a chat, press +, then Connectors, to switch it on or off.
On your phone: connectors belong to your Claude account. Add it once on claude.ai or in the desktop app, and it is in the Claude app for iPhone and Android too: in a chat, press +, then Connectors, and switch it on.

Good to know
- An admin has to turn on MCP Access in Datadog, and MCP Write Access for write tools.
- You need the mcp_read (and mcp_write) permissions; the Standard role has both.
- More toolsets fill more of Claude's context; turn on only what you use.
